Scientists from the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and BIOCEV received six grants from the GAČR!
Scientists from the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University received a total of six grants in the field of medical and biological sciences, thus becoming the medical faculty with the highest number of grants, which confirms the extraordinary scientific potential of the faculty. Of the six projects, five are standard projects, in which the support is focused on basic research, and one is POSTDOC INDIVIDUAL FELLOWSHIP INCOMING. Here, the aim is to motivate outstanding scientists with long-term international experience, who are at the beginning of their scientific career, to tackle their own high-quality scientific project at an institution in the Czech Republic.

- RNDr. Kristýna Pimková, Ph.D. (BIOCEV) - Redox proteome reprogramming in therapeutic resistance of Myelodysplastic syndrome
- Mgr. Peter Dráber, Ph.D. (BIOCEV) - Regulation of programmed cell death as a mechanism of immune tolerance
- prof. MUDr. Jan Bělohlávek Ph.D. - Tolerance of organ systems to hypotension with preserved perfusion in cardiogenic shock
- prof. MUDr. Petra Lišková, M.D., Ph.D. - Investigation of molecular causes of anterior segment dysgenesis using advanced sequencing methods and organoids

The Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GAČR) funds scientific projects for both erudite scientists and teams as well as for young and emerging scientists within the announced programs. The aim is, among other things, to fund basic research projects with a high potential for world-class results, to support and further expand international scientific cooperation in basic research or to contribute to the creation of attractive conditions for the careers of young and emerging scientists.
