BIOCEV Kick-off Meeting for the PRIMUS Program Laureates
Charles University provides a comprehensive system of support for science and research. It combines elements that have been progressively built since the 1990s with new programs to promote excellent science to include all phases of scientific work. The system consists of several complementary university programs. One of these programs is the Primus competition. On September 22nd 2020 prof. Tomáš Stopka, Head of the BIOCEV Institute, First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University organized meeting for the laureates working within the BIOCEV Center.
Primus is a programme with aim to encourage young researchers with international experience to establish new research groups and laboratories. Selected young scientists will be enabled to run their own independent projects during a period of 3-5 years. One of the long-term goals of the research programme is to increase the success rate of the University in attracting major international grants (e.g., European Research Council – ERC grants).
