Bioarteficial Structures for Replacement and Regeneration of Damaged Tissues
Scientists from the IEM CAS and BIOCEV organized a one-day regenerative medicine workshop BIOCEV Regeneration I
The event was held in the conference hall of the BIOCEV Research Center with the participation of foreign guests. The invitation was accepted by the following speakers - Prof. James Fawcett (University of Cambridge, UK), Jessica CF Kwok (University of Leeds, UK), Prof. Leonora Bużańska (Mossakowski Medical Research Institute PAS, PL) and Prof. András Dinnyés (BioTalentum LTD, HU), who participated remotely via an online presentation.
In addition to the foreign scientists, other distinguished guests also attended, namely Ognen Pop-Georgievski (Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry CAS), Assoc. Prof. Lucie Bačáková (Institute of Physiology CAS), Petr Bauer (Bioinova a.s.) and Assoc. Prof. Petr Vaňhara (Masaryk University).
The opening speech was made by Miroslava Anděrová, Director of the Institute of Medical Research of the CAS, and Prof. Pavel Martásek, Director of the BIOCEV Centre. This was followed by individual guests' presentations focused on stem cell research, biomaterials and particular aspects of regenerative medicine. The event received great interest from the professional public. In total, 50 participants, from PhD students and employees of the CAS and the BIOCEV Research Centre, attended the workshop.
The event was organized by scientists and students of the detached department of the IEM CAS in Biocev and was supported by the International Visegrad Fund and the Neurorecon project.
