Official statement regarding the fake BIOCEV profile on Facebook
BIOCEV (Official name: Biotechnology and Biomedicine Center of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Charles University in Vestec) strongly objects to the misuse of its good name and parasitism on the BIOCEV brand for the purpose of influencing customers with misleading labeling of food supplements.
BIOCEV hereby publicly declares that it does not run any advertising campaigns on social networks, nor does it have anything to do with BuildLeaf brand products, such as GLP-1 (Fit & Vital Oral Solution), which is promoted under the false profile of the Biotechnology Center of the Czech Academy of Sciences as a weight loss product.
Fraudulent behavior can also endanger the lives and health of consumers.
We categorically object to the misuse of the BIOCEV brand/logo, as well as the expertise and scientific work of BIOCEV teams for commercial gain, misleading consumers, and undermining the credibility of Czech science and respected institutions such as the Czech Academy of Sciences and Charles University.
We consider parasitizing on the BIOCEV brand to be influencing public opinion and its (lack of) trust in scientifically based information about society's health problems. The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated the key role of scientists and their contribution to effective decision-making on matters of vital importance.
