POSTDOC - Cancer Resistance, Mitochondria, Iron Metabolism

Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences announces an open competition in accordance with the Act No. 283/1992 Coll. on the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Statutes of the Czech Academy of Sciences for a position: Postdoc

Postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for data mining and assessing effects of potential target molecules that are connected with cancerogenesis and are linked with tamoxifen and taxane resistance, mitochondrial function or iron metabolism. The work will require tissue culture work in vitro and animal handling and treatment in vivo.

Requirements

  • PhD in cellular biology, biochemistry, or molecular biology
  • Proved history of research activities
  • Ability to actively participate in research projects
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork
  • Leadership and soft skills for guiding Ph.D. students
  • English, written and spoken, advanced level
  • Experience with research and methods related to mitochondrial and cancer biology and CRISPR/ NGS/sc RNAseq is advantageous
