First aid with a paramedic from the Central Bohemia Region

On Tuesday, 21 March 2023, the employees of the BIOCEV Centre were trained to the use of a defibrillator to save life and other information about first aid in the most common threats to human life, such as heart attack, stroke or cardiac arrest. The lecture was held in cooperation with the Office of the Governor of the Central Bohemian Region and the management of the Central Bohemian Region Emergency Medical Service.

The scientists from BIOCEV were trained in the use of the device and other first aid skills by Mr. Marek Hylebrant, the education coordinator and a paramedic. His more than two-hour presentation included general rules of first aid, calling and communicating on the emergency line, the procedure for resuscitating children, as well as a number of stories from practice.

"I am glad that BIOCEV is involved in this project. I wish you that the time spent with Mr. Hylebrant really gave you something to live for. At the same time, I wish you to need it as little as possible in practice," said Mr. Pavel Pavlík, Deputy Governor of the Central Bohemian Region for Health, at the beginning of the meeting.

"I would like to thank the representatives of the Central Bohemian Region for their long-term support and cooperation," continued Prof. Pavel Martásek, Scientific Director of BIOCEV, adding: "The principles of first aid, like all fields of human activity, undergo development, so it is necessary to expand our knowledge. It can be useful for all of us."
